To drive our ambitious New Product Development (NPD) and Existing Product Development (EPD) roadmap, we are looking for a highly skilled and strategic leader to oversee end-to-end (E2E) Product delivery. This role is critical in ensuring seamless execution from concept to commercialisation, balancing innovation, regulatory compliance, operational feasibility, and market impact.
We are seeking a dynamic leader who can drive effective prioritisation, resource allocation, and risk management, ensuring that projects are delivered on time and within budget while guiding cross-functional teams towards achieving our strategic goals.
This role requires a combination of visionary thinking, project management proficiency, strong technical understanding and the ability to inspire and motivate teams towards excellence. You will also have to be hands-on and get into the project and technical details when required too.
This is a hybrid role and you will be based in our brand new Innovation Centre in Aylesbury (HP22 5WJ). You will report to the Chief Product Officer and will have a team of 7 reporting to you via 3 senior team members.

Key responsibilities:
* Strategic Leadership: Provide leadership and strategic direction for the Project team, inspiring a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence. Set clear goals and objectives aligned with the company's vision and values, and empower team members to contribute their best work towards achieving them.
* Project Management Excellence: Lead and manage cross-functional project teams consisting of scientists, formulation experts, regulatory experts and other stakeholders (e.g marketing & supply chain) to achieve project objectives within established timelines and budget constraints. Apply effective project management methodologies and tools to drive efficiency and accountability.
* Stakeholder Engagement: Cultivate strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including senior management, cross-functional teams, vendors, and partners. Effectively communicate project goals, progress, and risks to key stakeholders, building trust and alignment across the organisation.
* Continuous Improvement and Talent Development: Drive a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging team members to seek opportunities for growth and development. Invest in talent development initiatives, such as training programs, mentorship opportunities, and performance feedback, to nurture the next generation of R&D leaders.
* Technical Leadership: Provide technical leadership and expertise in skincare, cosmetics product development, leveraging formulation team to ensure robust evaluation of novel ingredients, formulations, and manufacturing processes. Mentor junior team members and facilitate knowledge sharing to elevate the team's technical capabilities.
* Championing Change Management: Ensure seamless implementation of new processes, systems, and ways of working across R&D and wider organisational cross-functional teams.
* Regulatory Compliance and Quality Assurance: Ensure relevant risks & issues visible for any compliance & regulatory requirements and industry standards throughout the product development lifecycle, pulling on expertise of Head of Regulatory to manage risk & ensure built into critical paths & project plans. Collaborate closely with regulatory affairs and quality assurance teams to address any regulatory issues or challenges, maintaining the highest standards of product safety and efficacy.
We are looking for:
* 10+ years of experience in project, portfolio, and program management, preferably in the beauty, personal care, or FMCG industries. Project management qualifications (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, Agile) are desirable but not essential.
* Strong experience in end-to-end product development, including formulation, regulatory, supply chain, and commercialisation. Science or Engineering degree (or equivalent technical qualification) strongly preferred.
* Proven ability to lead and optimise a complex project portfolio, with a track record of delivering products on time and within budget on a global scale.
* Expertise in stage-gate governance, resource prioritisation, and cross-functional stakeholder management.
* Strong risk management and change management expertise, with the ability to proactively identify, mitigate, and escalate risks to executive teams when needed.
* Experience in driving process transformation, embedding best-in-class project management techniques, governance and operational efficiency.
* Strong People development and leadership qualities, including vision, strategic thinking, and the ability to inspire and motivate teams towards excellence.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
* Experience with regulatory requirements and quality standards applicable to beauty/pharmacy products is preferred.
* A bias for action, with the ability to balance big-picture strategy with hands-on problem-solving.
