The role
The Business Partner – Environmental Projects is key to driving key environmental programs and enabling implementation of strategic initiatives. Operating in partnership with national leaders, you will be key in delivering critical support to the business for all facets of environmental opportunity to continue striving for sustainable futures.
Responsibilities
1. Build and facilitate collaborative relationships with key staff, stakeholder representatives, external partners, and regulators to identify and develop improvements to environmental programs and plans.
2. Identify and coordinate strategic environmental projects and approval pathways.
3. Provide leadership and guidance to key internal stakeholders regarding environmental risks management and improvement measures, data and reporting.
4. Enable timely completion of improvement projects by ensuring requirements are met, required changes are communicated and assist site teams with their implementation.
5. Collaborate with team members to assist in development and delivery of environmental coaching and visible leadership.
6. Provide feedback to sustainability system and reporting team to understand current processes and develop system improvements for managing key compliance dates.
7. Generate and improve performance reports for all levels.
8. Assist in annual audit schedule for obligations, compliance and improvement.
9. Investigate environmental incidents with care and due diligence.
What you will need to succeed
1. Minimum 10 years’ experience in environmental management within a regulatory, heavy, waste or quarry industry.
2. Experience delivering an environmental function at a senior level.
3. Experience managing environmental regulation and communication.
4. Demonstrated success managing Licence to Operate and Social Licence issues.
5. Demonstrated knowledge of material sustainability topics and frontline application.
6. Demonstrated ability to develop, implement and audit management systems standards, procedures and tools.
7. Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science or Engineering, or related discipline.
8. Formal Certification in investigation methodology desirable.
9. Industry White Card.
