Following the release of ARRS GPinformation and funding we are looking for newly qualified (within 2 yrs andnot having had a substantive post), enthusiastic, forward-thinking GP to joinByfield Medical Centre, part of Northamptonshire Rural PCN on a fixed term salaried contact until31 March 2025. We are looking for somebody to work 1.5 sessions per week (Thursday and half a day on any other) witha start date as soon as possible.

Contract will be based on the BMAcontract with 6 weeks annual leave plus bank holidays and (pro rata). One weekstudy leave (pro rata)

Main duties of the job
The GP will undertake a varietyof duties governed by the GMS contract and objectives of Enhanced Servicesincluding:
Share of Routine and Urgentappointments both face to face and telephone
Prescribe as per local &national guidelines
Share of home visits routine andemergency
Time-manage completion ofadministration: letters, results, tasks, referrals, telephone calls, emails
Take responsibility forappropriate referrals (following local guidance and good medical practice) andadministration pertaining to them
Checking and signing share ofrepeat prescriptions
Cover for colleagues in exceptionalcircumstances such as sudden illness, taking into account the individualdoctors external commitments such as childcare
Work with other health and socialcare providers to ensure a safe and integrated service. Provide comprehensiveassessment, advice, and treatment for the registered practice population.
Maintain accurate andcomprehensive records of consultations using both EMIS and S1 clinical systems
To provide clinical support toother members of staff, both clinical and administrative, in achieving thehighest possible standards of care and QOF and Enhanced Services targets

Provide safe, evidence-based,cost-effective, individualised patient care within the surgery, patients ownhome
Clinically examine and assesspatient needs from a physiological and psychological perspective, and planclinical care accordingly referring patients to other services/agencies in atimely manner
To recognise the need for and beable to perform and interpret investigatory procedures, including laboratoryand radiology.
Prioritise health problems andintervene appropriately to assist the patient in complex, urgent or emergencysituations, including initiation of effective emergency care.
Ensure appropriate follow up ofpatients
Support patients to adopt healthpromotion strategies that promote healthy lifestyles and apply principles ofself-care
Support the delivery ofanticipatory care plans
Recognise and work within yourown competence and in accordance with professional codes of conduct,maintaining accurate and contemporaneous health records
Independently prescribe forpatients within your scope of practice. Prescribing in accordance with locallyagreed or national guidelines.
Compiling and issuingcomputer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions
Review medications following theappropriate policies, NICE/local clinical guidelines and local care pathways.
To maintain an awareness ofdevelopments in clinical practice
Awareness of and compliance withall relevant practice policies/guidelines e.g. prescribing, confidentiality,data protection, health and safety and QOF standards.
Be aware of your duties andresponsibilities regarding current legislation and adhere to our policies andprocedures on Safeguarding Children and Safeguarding Adults.

Person SpecificationQualifications
* Newly qualified GP (no more than 2 years qualified) with no previous substantive post
* GMC registration and license to practice.
