The post-holder will have a key role in providing a high quality of psychology service to patients across all aspects of care. Your Day-to-Day To supervise and support the psychological assessment and therapy provided by Assistant Psychologists and other clinical members of the service who provide psychologically-based care and treatment. To undertake specialist psychological assessments, interpretation from psychological tests, semi-structured interviews, individual and group therapy. You will also consider potential risks and social needs of the client group, relevant to their diagnosis. To formulate and implement care plans for the formal psychological treatment and/or management of a patients mental health problems, based upon an appropriate conceptual framework of their problems, and employing therapeutic methods based on evidence. You will be expected to offer psychological insight and knowledge around the clinical area and provide consultation about the psychological care of the client group to staff, families and other agencies. You will have opportunity to develop skills in professional postgraduate teaching, training and supervision in accordance with Department needs and as identified in the appraisal review process. You will also have involvement in audit, policy, service development along with the assessment and interpretation of outcomes.
