Job overview An exciting opportunity has arisen within the South Integrated Care Team- Therapy (ICTT) for an experienced / innovative Physiotherapist/Occupational Therapist to work as a Clinical Lead. (part time 22.5 hours/week). The Integrated Care Team-Therapy provides therapy for patients in their own home. The Team consists of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Specialist/Senior Therapy Assistants, who work in a multi-disciplinary way to ensure the most appropriate treatment for patients. The Team accepts referrals from all Health and Social Care professionals and supports discharges from hospital. As Clinical Lead you will manage and supervise a team of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Therapy Assistants to deliver the service. The service works closely with Pharmacy, District Nursing, Speech and Language Therapy and Community Mental Health Nurses. You will provide professional leadership to the therapists within the service enabling their development and ensuring our patients receive high quality therapy interventions. The role includes staff management and development, management of complex clinical and social situations and liaison with multiple agencies. You will also carry and be responsible for your own clinical caseload. The service will support your on-going development in your leadership skills and clinical decision making. Evidence of community working experience is desirable. Main duties of the job • To assist the Operational Leader in the planning and delivery of high quality and effective Therapy. • To provide high level clinical expertise and take responsibility for the dissemination of evidence based practice across the service. • To manage a caseload of clients, with complex needs using specialist skills and evidence based/client centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions. • To provide professional leadership to a designated staff team including recruitment, supervision and development of these staff within the multidisciplinary context. Person specification Qualifications Essential criteria • Diploma/degree in Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapy • Current HCPC registration. • Relevant validated clinical courses to Masters level or equivalent knowledge / experience • Demonstrate evidence of continuous Professional Development via personal development plans/file. • Training from Higher Education Institution for graduate student supervision. Desirable criteria • First line management / Leadership course at masters level. Experience Essential criteria • Extensive post graduate experience of occupational therapy / physiotherapy interventions at specialist level in the NHS. • Experience of working in the community with older adults and carrying out complex health and social care assessments. • Experience of supervising / managing / developing junior / assistants through PDR and teaching. • Experience of proactive involvement in service development and change management. • Experience of involvement in audit.
