Position: Mechanical Craftsperson
Location: Redruth
Salary: £34,368 - £40,729 per annum plus excellent benefits
About the role
As the Mechanical Craftsperson, you will strip, inspect, and repair assets sent through South West Water’s internal Repair Workshop from Waste Water and Drinking Water Services. Your goal is to provide quality services sustainably, meeting internal and external customer standards while protecting the environment.
What you'll be doing:
1. Working on assets from Waste Water Treatment and Water Treatment sites to maintain equipment such as pumps, gearboxes, and treatment machinery.
2. Manufacturing and fabricating parts and equipment.
3. Collaborating with other disciplines in workshop and mobile field teams.
4. Developing new skills both within and outside your core discipline.
5. Following business and departmental workflow and management rules.
6. Ensuring safety for yourself and others.
What we are looking for:
* 5 GCSEs or equivalent in Maths, English, and Science.
* Completion of an apprenticeship in a relevant technical discipline.
* Experience in a maintenance environment.
* Teamwork skills and understanding of its importance.
* Experience with Risk Assessments, Method Statements, and Safe Systems of Work.
* Strong fault-finding skills for complex mechanical equipment.
* Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
* Full UK Driving License.
