What to Expect
1. Someone with a good attitude and understanding of the variance of the role from day to day, good skills in terms of working with equipment and data logging.
2. Respond to equipment breakdowns on critical production equipment and fault find effectively, carrying out repair and preventative maintenance work on all production equipment.
3. Apply practical problem solving to find continuous improvements on equipment issues and maintenance aspects.
4. Effective logging and documentation of reactive and planned maintenance tasks.
5. Assistance in the sign off of Future Technologies to be utilized within MPC.
6. Source and order specialist components, fixtures, and fixings.
7. Support the management and repeated assessment of onsite critical spares.
8. Support with planned maintenance activities during the production shutdown periods.
9. Create and update maintenance and equipment procedures.
What You'll Do
Support the Process Techs on problem-solving, sometimes under pressure, ensuring all Production build equipment within MPC (McLaren Production Centre) is fully operational and compliant. Follow up with suppliers and record data for review.
What You'll Bring
1. The ability to problem solve and a good attitude/flexibility to work on many different aspects within McLaren Production Centre from Body assembly, Paint, and General Assembly.
2. The ability to log data in terms of Mean time to repair/KPI.
3. Electrical/Mechanical recognized engineering skills - will be subject to practical test i.e. NVQ Diploma / BTEC / HND / Apprenticeship.
4. Experience of fault finding and maintenance activity on PC, PLC, and electromechanically controlled production equipment and the ability to use technical instruments when required.
5. Experience in electrical cable repairs with the ability to solder and welding experience would be advantageous.
6. Knowledge of automated control systems and manufacturing and process equipment is required.
7. Ability to read technical drawings to include electrical, mechanical, and when required, 3D drawings of bespoke solutions and BOMs.
