An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Abingdon & Witney College as a Mechanical Engineering Lecturer. You will be responsible for coaching and assessing full-time students and apprentices. You should have the relevant qualifications and/or experience to be able to deliver and assess engineering skills.
As an Engineering Lecturer, you will:
* Teach Practical Skills: Deliver engaging and informative sessions in the mechanical workshop, focusing on turning, milling, fitting, and sheet metal techniques.
* Develop Course Material: Create and update teaching materials, lesson plans, and practical exercises that meet industry standards and curriculum requirements.
* Assess and Support Students: Evaluate student progress through practical assessments, provide constructive feedback, and support students in their learning journey.
* Collaborate with Colleagues: Work closely with other lecturers and staff to enhance the overall educational experience and support the engineering department.
You don’t need to be a qualified assessor or teacher – we will support you in achieving the necessary qualifications. We just ask that you are motivated by helping others to learn, and that you really want to make a difference to people’s lives.
If you are already an experienced lecturer, then we’d like to hear from you too. We know that you will find Abingdon & Witney College different from other colleges. Our philosophy is ‘Be You. If you want to join a college that is wholeheartedly committed to staff and student well-being, where the culture genuinely revolves around putting students first and helping them to achieve extraordinary things, then look no further!
Successful applicants will be passionate about delivering the very highest quality of teaching, learning, and assessment, and be fully committed to supporting their students to achieve at the highest possible level. In return, we will support you to be the very best assessor/teacher you can be, and to develop your career and professional interests in a way that works for you.
Although a teaching qualification is an advantage, training opportunities exist within the College and we can support you in gaining your Award in Education and Training Level 3 Qualification (AET), within your first year of joining the college.
In return, Abingdon & Witney College offers excellent benefits to our employees including generous pension and holiday schemes (with potential Christmas closure days), continued professional development, flexible working options, corporate gym membership, cycle/tech scheme, and much more.
