Quality Engineer job in Hinkley Point C, Somerset. (client can Sponsor also)
A leading opportunity has arisen for a Quality Engineer to join a high-profile nuclear construction project at Hinkley Point C. This is a pivotal on-site position for a driven and detail-oriented professional looking to work at the heart of one of Europe’s largest infrastructure projects. Based full-time at Hinkley Point C, Somerset the Quality Engineer will play a key role in maintaining the integrity of quality standards across complex engineering processes. This on-site role at Hinkley Point C involves supporting the quality function to ensure all project activities are fully compliant with ISO 9001 and other stringent regulatory standards. The Quality Engineer will engage with multiple internal and external stakeholders, contributing to everything from quality planning and documentation, to inspections, audits, and non-conformance management.
Key Responsibilities:

Ensure full compliance with ISO 9001 and project-specific Quality Management Systems.

Liaise with internal teams and client representatives on all quality-related concerns.
*
Monitor on-site subcontractor quality activities and conduct internal audits.
*
Manage incoming material inspections and documentation checks at Hinkley Point C.
*
Coordinate and maintain quality deliverables such as LTQRs and final records.
*
Support inspection and testing activities, including welding, materials, and calibration checks.
*
Drive the resolution of non-conformities and support root cause investigations.
*
Compile and review technical procedures, quality manuals, ITPs, and inspection records.
Essential Requirements:
*
HNC (or equivalent) in an Engineering discipline.
*
Qualified ISO 9001:2015 Internal or Lead Auditor.
*
Sound knowledge of NDT methods, welding standards, and fabrication practices.
*
Experience with quality systems in a regulated industry, ideally nuclear or heavy infrastructure.
*
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple quality projects concurrently.
*
Excellent understanding of Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
Preferred Attributes:
*
Chartered Quality Professional status.
*
Responsible Welding Coordinator or Visual Weld Inspector qualification.
*
Experience with NEC3 or FIDIC contracts.
*
Previous on-site experience at Hinkley Point C or similar high-specification environments.
