Job Title: HR Officer Location: North London Start Date: Monday, 23rd February 2025 Days/Hours: 8.00am - 5.00pm, Monday-Friday (occasional evenings required to support Governors’ meetings or school events). Please note this is not a term time only position. Reporting Line: HR Manager, Bursar Job Purpose: To provide administrative support to the HR Manager to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the HR function. To offer effective and efficient administrative support to the Bursar in all aspects of his role. Main duties and responsibilities: Supporting the HR Manager in the delivery of an effective and efficient HR function. Provide administrative support during staff recruitment, placing adverts, collate incoming job applications, issuing reference requests Maintain and update staff files and school management system including recording of absence data Maintain the school’s Central Register of recruitment checks Draft offer of employment letters and contracts of employment for review by the HR Manager Undertake recruitment and vetting checks in line with the school’s Recruitment and Selection Policy, including maintaining the school’s Central Register. Be responsible for preparing the monthly payroll, administration of Pension Schemes, Childcare voucher and Cycle to Work scheme To deputise for the HR Manager in her absence in consultation with the Bursar Deal with incoming telephone calls to the Bursar’s Department Provide administrative support to the Bursar including diary management, organising meeting and sending correspondence Maintain records within the Department on behalf of the Bursar Collate 11 Bursary applications and arrange correspondence of all bursary offers Complete Annual Census in liaison with Admissions Department Process school fees insurance claims To be the system administrator for the Duke of Edinburgh Scheme software used by the school (EDofE) Such other duties that the HR Manager or Bursar may reasonably and from time to time require. Ideal candidate will have: Previous HR Experience in the same or similar role Valid Enhanced DBS, preferably registered on the update service Excellent interpersonal skills with both adults, children and colleagues Ability to work calmly under pressure in a busy environment Effective time management and proven ability to work to strict deadlines Excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritise workload Attention to detail and methodical approach to work Proficient using Google and Microsoft suite of applications or similar. Able to work independently and as part of a team, forming good working relationships Ability to act at all times with discretion and to maintain confidentiality
