Joining the senior management team, you can expect to play an involved role in the corporate leadership of the organisation, working with senior colleagues across the organisation to ensure sound financial planning and controls underpin our work. You will also be a key point of contact for elected members, ensuring that key decisions are informed by high quality financial reporting and advice, and that risk is managed effectively. Your core service portfolio will include Finance, Internal Audit and Revenues & Benefits - though you can expect to contribute across the full spectrum of the Council's work. As the Statutory S95 Officer it's essential that you are a qualified accountant, and you should already have proven senior experience in a comparable setting. It's important that you can quickly build trust and confidence with stakeholders across the organisation and that you can bring a pragmatic and solutions focused approach to budget challenges. With a strong values-based approach, you'll be committed to public service, and making the very best use of our resources on behalf of our communities.
