This is an exciting time for us at Solent University as we embark on a project to deliver a new Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solution which covers HR, Payroll, Finance, and Procurement. Your focus will be on the HR element and you will already have experience within a process-driven HR transactional role which covers the full employee lifecycle, from recruitment through to exit and everything in between. Previous systems implementation experience would be advantageous.
We are looking for someone who has a good knowledge and experience of HR and recruitment specific systems in general. Our current HR system is Resource Link (Zellis) and our recruitment system is Hireserve, so having knowledge or experience of these would be desirable but is not essential. You will play a key role in helping us successfully transition from our current systems to our new Technology One solution as we adopt new ways of working.
Your role is to understand how we currently operate and what the new solution provides so that we can bridge the gap between the two and ensure that all of our processes are captured as required and tested before being finalised. You will also be required to liaise with our current team members to understand current ways of working as necessary and you will form part of a broader ERP project team which will work closely to deliver this project in August 2025. This is a full-time role; however, part-time hours will also be considered.
If you feel as though you could assist us in delivering this exciting project then we would be delighted to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities Include:
1. To work on the ERP project with the business P&D workstream to ensure that the new ERP system meets the requirements of the university, representing Solent specific HR specialisms.
2. To use the knowledge that you have gained while working in a similar role to provide expert guidance to the implementation team so that the new ERP solution meets the University's requirements when implemented.
3. To liaise with our current Administrators (P&D People Advisors) to check on understanding of current work practices/processes and share with the ERP project team as necessary.
4. Work with the Business Leads, other subject matter experts, Business Analysts, Business Change Managers and the 3rd party implementation and test team to ensure that the ERP solution is fit for purpose.
5. Working closely with the Business Analyst and Business Change Managers:
- Support the definition of processes and policies, supply business rules and procedures, and communicate the contexts in which the rules, processes, and policies are applied.
- Accurately represent the business workstream needs to the implementation teams.
- Understand the requirements and deliverables required by the business workstreams and work with the 3rd party implementation team to define and document new processes.
- Provide input for the design and construction of test cases and scenarios and validate the test results.
- Provide input into user documentation and training material.
6. Assist the Business Leads with the configuration of the solution, including data entry.
7. Undertake user acceptance testing, using and evaluating it for accuracy and usability, providing feedback to the business lead.
8. Guide other team members on the project to ensure the content is accurate.
9. Highlight issues relevant to project deliverables.
10. Identify and obtain approval for changes to rules, processes, and policies.
