The Governing Body of the Eveswell & Somerton Primary School Partnership are seeking to appoint a Deputy Headteacher for Eveswell Primary School. Following our excellent Estyn Inspection in February 2024, the Governing Body is seeking to appoint a passionate, enthusiastic and outstanding professional, to assist the newly appointed Executive Headteacher in leading this highly successful school. ESTYN recognised that “Both schools work together effectively to improve provision for pupils in a mutually beneficial way.” The Eveswell and Somerton Primary School Partnership allows both schools to provide excellent pastoral and learning experiences and enhances staff development.
In partnership with parents and the community, the Eveswell and Somerton Primary School Partnership aims to provide an inspiring learning environment that values and develops everyone.

The Governing Body are committed to appointing a Deputy Headteacher who:
1. Demonstrates a passion and a high-level skill set for leading outstanding teaching and learning across the school.
2. Leads and promotes excellence, equity and high expectations of behaviour, deploying positive behaviour management strategies effectively and consistently.
3. Ensures that the well-being of all children is central to all that they do and builds a relationship of mutual respect with the pupils, parents, staff, wider community and the Governing Body.
4. Shows excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
5. Motivates, inspires and generates enthusiasm in a team environment and has a flexible and positive approach to challenge and change.
6. Owns a strong professional learning record and articulates aspirations for headship, being able to deputise for the headteacher on a regular basis.
7. Demonstrates a deep understanding of the Curriculum for Wales and in its progression and assessment.
8. Understands how to meet the needs of all pupils, including those with additional needs or those who are multilingual, have particular talent or are vulnerable.
9. Brings energy, enthusiasm, positivity and drive to fulfil the role to the best of their ability at all times.
10. Is an inspirational leader who has a clear vision for the partnership.
