Clinical To work as part of a team responsible for providing an efficient imaging service at University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust. To work within clearly a defined accountability framework as an apprentice assistant practitioner Interpret and follow Trust Policies and Procedures, following accepted protocols and professional codes of conduct to manage own workload under the supervision of a supervising radiographer. Adhere to all aspects of the regulations pertaining to COSHH, Departmental Operating Procedures, and observe the Local Rules relating to radiation safety, thereby maintaining a safe working environment. To work within an agreed scope of practice and within own competencies, taking personal responsibility but referring to qualified staff in all matters outside the prescribed practice. Maintenance of imaging competencies as essential for the role Interpret clinical information to support the requested examination. Follow departmental clinical protocols and query an examination if you believe clinical indications require it. To ensure the quality of the radiographic image provides relevant diagnostic information and is approved by the Supervising Radiographer, ensuring high standards of patient care are maintained. Be able to accurately position patients with minimum discomfort to facilitate accurate diagnostic images and support and enhance the continual quality initiative and ensure a quality first approach to all aspects of work.
