As a Play Worker, you will play a vital role in creating a safe, engaging, and stimulating environment for children. Your primary responsibility will be to facilitate play and learning activities that promote the development of social skills, creativity, and physical coordination during our wrap around provsion (breakast and/or afterschool clubs). You will work closely with children in various settings, ensuring their well-being and fostering an atmosphere of fun and exploration.
Duties
• Supervise and engage with children during playtime, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
• Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that encourage learning through play.
• Communicate effectively with children, providing guidance and support as needed.
• Manage group dynamics to promote positive interactions among children.
• Maintain a clean and organised play environment, ensuring all equipment is safe for use.
• Collaborate with parents and guardians to discuss children's progress and any concerns.
• Drive initiatives that enhance children's experiences in the nursery setting.
Skills
• Proficient in English, both spoken and written, to communicate effectively with children and colleagues.
• Strong leadership abilities to guide children in group activities and foster teamwork.
• Experience in childcare or early childhood education is highly desirable.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining a calm demeanour in a busy environment.
• Knowledge of child development principles and practices related to play-based learning.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to build rapport with children, parents, and staff members.
• Previous experience working with children in a nursery or similar setting is an advantage.
• A minimum level 2 in childcare or Early years education required
