About the Team: The Multi-Agency Child Protection Team (MACPT) is a decisive, multi-agency system where practitioners have the expertise, experience, time and support to identify actual or likely significant harm quickly and accurately and take rapid and effective protective action, whether the harm is inside or outside the home. Work and interventions are meaningful, and practice feels clear and compassionate for children, their parents and their family networks. There are two Multi-Agency Child Protection Teams (one based in the north of the county and one in the south of the county) and they are made up of Lead Child Protection Practitioners (Social Workers), a Police Detective Sergeant, a Safeguarding Nurse, an Education Officer, with virtual links to Paediatricians and various other partner services, bringing together multi-agency practitioners for child protection decision-making and enhancing collaboration. The Multi-Agency Child Protection Team is responsible for all Child Protection decision making for children in Warwickshire. The Lead Child Protection Practitioner will provide advice to and consult on child protection concerns with the Family Help Lead Practitioner and multi-agency partners. The Lead Child Protection Practitioner will play the pivotal role in overseeing, supporting, and ensuring the consistent application of child protection thresholds to ensure the best outcomes for children and families throughout the social care system.
