Bury Hospice has a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Events & Mass Participation Fundraiser to join our passionate Fundraising / Income Generation team.
Main duties of the job
To be responsible for development and delivery of a profitable and engaging portfolio of events in order to facilitate acquisition, development and retention of individual and corporate supporters from across Bury.

Job responsibilities
Operational Responsibilities
* To deliver a portfolio of engaging fundraising events, meeting KPIs.
* To create detailed operational plans for portfolio of events, ensuring they are compliant and ensure safety of all involved.
* To work to income and expenditure budgets.
* To work with the marketing team to ensure robust promotional plans are in place.
* To deliver excellent stewardship and well-planned supporter journeys for all participants.
* To support the Senior Corporate Fundraiser in planning and operation aspect of corporate events.
* Ensure all money is handled according to Fundraising Regulations and in line with hospice policy.
* To work with colleagues to ensure all Hospice donors are thanked in a timely manner.
Communication and Working Relationships
* Work with and support wider Fundraising and Income Generation teams to maintain full and up-to-date working knowledge of all activity.
* Liaise with wider hospice team to gain knowledge of care and services provided.
* To provide peer support to Supporter Care colleagues, facilitating smooth and thorough processing of registrations and donations.
* To co-ordinate volunteer activity supporting hospice events, both in the planning phase and at events.
Information Systems
* To contribute to the delivery of the Income Generation strategy through providing full technical support within Donorflex and associated Income Generation and finance-based systems.
* To assist in the delivery of a programme of engagement opportunities in line with the Income Generation strategy.
* Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and guidance e.g. Charity Commission, Institute of Fundraising, Fundraising Regulator and Information Commissioners Office.
Responsibilities
* Communicate effectively with Fundraising and Marketing team and wider Income generation team to ensure any potential engagement opportunities identified are shared.
* Maintain confidentiality of donor, patient and staff data at all times.
* Represent Bury Hospice in a wide range of situations in a professional manner, including presentations within the local community.
* To read and adhere to all organisational policies and procedures.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Good level of education including Grade C or above in GCSE English and Maths.
Experience
* Experience of organising a range of events.
* Experience of working in a fundraising environment.
* Experience of working with volunteers or in a volunteering environment.
* Experience of supporter development and relationship management.
* Experience working to budgets and achieving targets.
Knowledge, Skills, and Attributes
* Knowledge of the principles of good donor management or customer care.
* Excellent working knowledge of MS Office and databases.
* Awareness of legal and financial aspects of licensing and charity law.
* Knowledge of Health and safety requirements and legislation around events.
* Knowledge of the local community and the Bury area.
* Knowledge of regional and national fundraising environment and relevant trends.
* Able to work on own initiative.
* Excellent organisational skills.
