Description Wincanton are recruiting for a People (HR) Manager to join our team a key client (Sainsbury's) Distribution Centre site in Thameside, London. The People Team at this large site supports around 500 colleagues. This is a true generalist site-based role operating in a fast-paced environment. We are looking for a confident and engaging leader that will come in and join a friendly team and be able to hit the ground running. Competitive Salary Role Responsibilities Ensure the provision of a high-quality people service through being a true business partner to site operational stakeholders in key areas of colleague retention, engagement, wellbeing, employee relations, learning & development, and reward Work in partnership with the leadership team to develop and then support the delivery of the site people plan Proactively facilitate and champion colleague wellbeing initiatives across the site Supporting ongoing volume recruitment in partnership with the resourcing team Play a lead role in forward thinking action planning to ensure the effective management of absence and retention supporting the achievement of contractual KPIs and targets Ensure compliance and keep up to date with new legislation and policy change Proactively analyse and identify areas of improvement, and be a key influencer to help drive change and deliver on social value projects such as the Million Hours Mission Work collaboratively with recognised Trade Union USDAW representatives to maintain a positive and constructive working relationship, implementing an employee relations climate of excellence to support ongoing cultural development Ensure relevant management training is identified, sourced and delivered, promoting a culture of learning and development across site About you Strong generalist People / HR background with a track record of delivering as a People (HR) Manager. Good working knowledge of and experience with dealing high volume and complex ER issues Experience gained in a fast paced, logistics / retail environment with Trade Union Experience desirable.
