Specialty Doctor - Perinatal Psychiatry, Leyland (10PA)
We are seeking to recruit a Specialty Doctor in Perinatal Psychiatry to work with the teams based at Leyland House, Leyland. The post is full time (10 PAs) and is fixed term for 8 months, or until the substantive postholder returns from maternity leave.
For those who are Section 12 approved, there may also be an opportunity to join the On Call rota, for which additional remuneration would be paid.
Main Duties of the Job
The clinical component of the post is focused on the care of the patients referred to the Specialist Perinatal Community Mental Health team based at Leyland House. The post holder shall provide clinical input and support to the Consultant within the Specialist Perinatal Community Mental Health Team at Leyland House. This includes:
1. Assessments of referrals/admissions to the service.
2. Diagnosis and formulation of management plans in complex presentations.
3. Management in treatment resistant and complex presentations.
4. Assessment and management of risk including vulnerability, suicide risk, risks to health and safety, and risk of harm to others.
5. Providing clinical supervision to the team.
About Us
To be eligible to apply for this post, you must possess at least 3 years' experience in psychiatry and be fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practice. Ideally, you will be Section 12 Approved, or eligible for approval at the time of commencing employment.
