POSITION PURPOSE Working as a member of the Golf Courses & Estates (GC&E) Department, undertake proactive and reactive general farm and estate maintenance duties. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS General grounds duties including grass cutting, hedge trimming, scarifying, strimming, weed control, planting, fertilising and weeding as directed. Undertake repairs to all fences, both wire/stock fences and electric fences. Machine operation for grounds and building work, including tractors, excavators, lawnmowers and greenkeeping machinery. Understand and adhere to all Health and Safety policies and practices and to ensure that all duties performed are carried out with full regard to the safety of customers, visitors, contractors and other employees. Work within the Health & Safety, COSHH, Risk Assessment and HAVS assessment guidelines at all times. To operate all machinery safely and effectively; care and maintenance of machinery and the reporting of loss or damage to the Workshop Manager according to policy and procedure. To undertake training and instruction to further skill set. Any other duties that may be required on or around the estate, to contribute to the workflow of the department. PERSONAL QUALITIES Self motivation and projecting a positive approach to work. Well organised,adaptable, discreet, reliable. Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch. Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment. Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary machinery and equipment. Position requires walking, standing and exerting well-paced mobility for up to 4 hours in length. (Length of time to complete tasks may vary from day to day and task to task.) Evidence of working outside throughout all seasons is desirable. Comfortable working around horses, goats and livestock ( essential) Literate & numerate.
