Join Walsall Council as a Brokerage Officer in Adult Social Care!

Pay : £14.24 per hour
Location : Remote with occasional requirement to work onsite.
Hours : 37 hours per week, full time
This role will initally be a 3 month contract with a view to be extended.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Negotiate Care Services: Work directly with care providers to secure the best possible care for our service users, ensuring timely and appropriate support.
2. Build Positive Relationships: Develop strong connections with care providers, ensuring that care is delivered effectively and efficiently.
3. Collaborate Across Teams: Serve as a vital link between social care teams, external providers, and commissioners, ensuring seamless service delivery.
4. Monitor and Manage: Keep up-to-date with market conditions, manage referrals, and ensure all services are provided within budget and in compliance with contractual frameworks.
5. Support and Escalate: Handle any concerns or capacity pressures, and escalate risks as needed to ensure the best outcomes for service users.
What We're Looking For:
6. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex issues clearly to a range of audiences.
7. Experience : A background in health and/or social care is essential, with a good understanding of the Adult Social Care agenda and local care practices.
8. IT Proficiency : Advanced IT skills, including experience working with multiple information systems and confidently handling data.
9. Problem-Solving : The ability to make critical decisions under pressure and manage time effectively to meet challenging targets.
10. Flexibility : A proactive approach with the ability to adapt to changing circumstances and work autonomously.
Qualifications :
11. Evidence of higher education achievement in social care, health, or an equivalent field.
12. Previous office experience and relevant qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 2 or above).
