WAREHOUSE MANAGER
Location: RHONDDA
Type: PERMANENT FULL TIME
Salary: NEGOTIABLE DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE
Our client is looking to strengthen and expand their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for a small team of 7.
Job Role:
* Ensure that the warehouse operates at peak efficiency by supervising, organising, and training warehouse employees and establishing, monitoring, and managing operational goals.
* Develop warehouse operations systems by determining product handling and storage requirements, equipment utilisation and inventory.
* Train and manage the warehouse team to solve day-to-day operational issues and reach short- and long-term performance goals.
* Oversee daily operations while controlling and managing inventory and logistics.
* Review and prepare workflows, staffing requirements, space allocations, equipment layouts, and action plans that meet company standards for productivity, quality, and customer service.
* Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by establishing and enforcing H&S standards and procedures and by complying with legal regulations.
* Order picking, processing, and dispatch planning and control.
Responsibilities:
* Supervise daily warehouse activities, including quality assurance, inventory control, space management, logistics, floor productivity, and deliveries.
* Schedule and oversee warehouse team and manage the flow and quality of work to maximize efficiency and meet KPIs.
* Ensure that facility equipment is properly maintained.
* Assist with picking, packing, goods in and goods out processing when required.
* Organise and process customer orders, including to customer specific requirements and ensure timely despatch of stock.
* Check orders after picking for accuracy advising warehouse staff of any errors to minimise future discrepancies.
* Order new supplies in a timely manner.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Three or more years of experience in warehouse management (Goods-In & Goods-Out).
* Proficiency with warehouse procedures and policies.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and leadership qualities.
* Ability to work collaboratively with all levels of company staff.
* Ability to deliver effective feedback, both written and verbal.
* Proficient computer skills.
* Track record of implementation of lean practices.
* Responsibility for managing budgets and setting and meeting KPIs.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
* Experience managing within a fast-moving dynamic environment.
* License to operate a forklift.
* A strong understanding of Health & Safety best practices.
Working Hours:
08:00 to 16:30 or 09:00 to 17:30
20 days plus public holidays.
