Overview
MCL requires a Senior Technical Safety Engineer for our Drilling client in Aberdeen.
Duration: 12 months approx.
Location: Aberdeen/Home Office - Hybrid working arrangement is acceptable
Rate: £50.00 per hour (ltd Co. or PAYE acceptable)
Hours: 40-45 hrs p/w

Responsibilities
1. Be of support to project work and contribute to the development / implementation of tools and work processes within the area of responsibility.
2. Contribute to that at any given time required tasks are carried out in accordance with the requirements, specifications and schedule.
3. Fire and gas safety (active and passive fire protection, detection, area classification
4. Shutdown philosophy.
5. Barrier management in relation to safety strategies and/or performance standards.
6. Facilitate risk assessments such as HAZID, HAZOP, Change & Constructability analysis, Design Review, Change analysis etc.
7. Studies and project execution within Technical Safety.
8. Technical work environment.
9. Design reviews and specifications.

AUTHORITY
27. Authority to discharge its responsibilities within the current guidelines and instructions
28. The incumbent has the authority to indent in accordance with the approved budgets, in collaboration with the section head and project manager, as well as execute requisition to the acquisition of literature and aids for the solution of tasks, and for the day-to-day operations.
29. The incumbent has, in relation to a project, the authority to stop the work that is a danger to people's health and safety also, to activities that may damage the external environment.
30. The incumbent, in relation to a project, has the authority as defined in ODT's authority matrix for project managers.
Qualifications
31. Bachelor or Master degree within Technical Safety or
32. Relevant experience within Engineering can compensate for lack of higher education.
