Are you a seasoned commercial leader with extensive experience in the Construction or Utilities sector?
A highly successful client of ours is seeking a Head of Commercial to join their dynamic team within the water industry.
You will play a critical role in driving the commercial strategy and operational success of our Business Unit.
Reporting directly to the Delivery/Commercial Director, you will have the opportunity to shape and execute strategic commercial plans that foster growth and outperformance across the entire unit.
Key Responsibilities:
* Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement commercial strategies that ensure outperformance, aligning with the Business Unit’s goals and objectives.
* Commercial Function Management: Lead and oversee all aspects of the commercial function, managing a high-performing team to successfully deliver on the Alliance and Business Unit’s strategic aims.
* Procurement & Estimating Models: Collaborate with the Procurement Team to establish cutting-edge procurement models and with the Estimating Team to maintain precise project lifecycle models, ensuring accurate cost capture and timely project closure.
* Cost & Performance Assurance: Oversee the cost management and performance indicators across the Business Unit, ensuring robust profit/loss accountability against the budget.
* Stakeholder Management: Liaise with senior stakeholders, managing expectations and delivering key outcomes, ensuring integration and collaboration across teams to achieve better value.
* Culture & Behaviour Development: Foster a commercially aware culture, driving positive behaviours within the team, employees, and supply chain.
About You:
* Senior Experience: Significant experience in a Senior Quantity Surveyor or Commercial role within the Construction or Utilities sector, with a proven track record in delivering high-value projects.
* Leadership: Demonstrated leadership skills with experience in managing teams and driving business objectives at a strategic level.
* Commercial Acumen: Strong ability to manage risk, issues, and commercial contracting with proven success in delivering best practices and commercial outcomes.
* Stakeholder & Communication Skills: Excellent negotiation, influencing, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate strategy effectively at all levels.
* Education & Development: Educated to degree level, with a commitment to continuous learning and development for both yourself and your team.
* Change Management: Proven experience in driving change and delivering quality results within tight deadlines.
