Are you a midwife with a passion for perinatal mental health? Would you like to develop your skills in supporting women's mental health during their journey through maternity services? Are you looking to provide personalised and compassionate care to women and families with complex social needs? We have an opening for a band 6 midwife to support the specialist midwife for Perinatal Mental Health and Complex Care in providing support to women with mental health and other complex needs to improve the outcomes and experiences for some of the most vulnerable women in Bradford.
We are a Trust with a real sense of "team" and are immensely proud of our passionate, dedicated and highly skilled midwives.
Main duties of the job
Perinatal mental illness affects up to 27% of women during pregnancy and the first year following the birth of a child. If left untreated it can have significant and long-lasting effects on women and families. Due to the diverse and complex socio-economic challenges faced by a significant proportion of women accessing maternity services at Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, there is an identified need for a Band 6 midwife to support the specialist midwife in coordinating care for women not only experiencing perinatal mental health issues but those who have other complex care needs including neurodiversity and learning difficulties.
