The Marketing Assistant will support the marketing activity for the venue and its associated outlets and selling points. This includes assisting in the day-to-day marketing output and also strategic marketing planning. For example, you can expect to be supporting and working on/with content creation, social media and other professional platforms, marketing calendars, campaigns, events, two-way customer communication, venue website, and search engines. The key purpose for this position is to assist the Marketing Manager in driving customer engagement and awareness of the venue and its offering, to maximise lead acquisition and revenue streams.
Responsibilities
* Support in the delivery of the strategic marketing calendar for the venue, through monthly planning meetings.
* Support the Marketing Manager in the continual review of the venue’s marketing collateral. Ensure it remains up-to-date, effective and on-brand. Maintain an exceptional eye for detail and the creative ability to support the production of quality marketing material.
* Support the venue’s digital marketing campaigns by delivering ‘best in class’ innovative promotions that will ultimately capture a wide audience and drive revenue.
* Execution and management of multiple social media accounts in line with the marketing strategy and communications plan; focusing on Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn. In line with content strategy and with a strong understanding of brand tone of voice.
* Maintain the venue’s digital marketing channels and online presence including social media accounts, offline promo, PR, venue website etc.
* Help and assist in the creation and output of digital marketing content: updating venue websites, third-party business listings, digital PR and blog articles, wedding and event directories, influencer partnerships, encouraging and maximising user-generated content.
* Develop original copy for social media platforms, websites and printed advertising materials.
* Assist with industry events, conferences and wedding shows.
* Create content for digital channels and print (including photos, video, graphics, and printed collateral), supporting content shoots when on shift and at events as per business needs.
* Support in the execution of engaging marketing campaigns and events.
* Understand brand guidelines and consistently implement the brand voice across all channels and marketing materials.
* Track, highlight and report on customer engagement and traffic statistics/activity.
* Support the Marketing Manager in the analysis of this and trends to communicate back to the business, and to help tailor marketing output.
* Ensure legal, privacy and accessibility requirements are understood and personally adhered to.
* Join regular meetings with your Line Manager to review personal targets and performance.
* Design and create effective email campaigns to promote and reach internal events, wedding and corporate clients. Be able to track these using analytics. Understand the importance of GDPR and privacy when adding personal data to email campaign software. Be able to effectively segment and use this to implement email automation to develop the email strategy.
* Create effective internal event branding. Including creating an event identity through detailed artwork for various platforms with a key focus on the target audience. Writing effective event descriptions (key information, descriptive & engaging). Set up ticketing platform and website pages.
* Knowledge and use of WordPress. Updating and reviewing website content with SEO in mind.
* Assist with customer service queries. Including responding to reviews and queries relating to both internal events and general business information.
* Liaise with the events team to understand needs and requirements (leaflets, brochures etc.).
* Ability to reach out to potential PR contacts and influencers for further promotion, ability to build relationships, negotiate and discuss requirements.
Person Specification
* At least 1-2 years of marketing employment experience within ideally a similar or transferrable market/industry.
* Understanding and experience using widely used marketing techniques, practices, and online platforms.
* Efforts to maintain an up-to-date grasp on all marketing trends and methodologies.
* Demonstrate fresh and original approach to marketing output.
* Natural company ambassador, able to confidently represent the business in any professional setting.
* Willing to be present during key operational periods to benefit marketing output.
* Creative individual with the skillset to support the output of captivating marketing material.
* Tech savvy with excellent IT skills, able to work across various computerised and digital platforms.
* Excellent copywriting skills to get a brand’s message across.
* Organised, timely and punctual individual who can multitask and effectively prioritise task load.
