We are currently recruiting a Sustainability Manager to join our Sustainability team. Over the last year, we have defined our sustainability strategy and targets. This role, based in our York office, is an exciting and rare opportunity to deliver against a new strategy from the very beginning.
Our Sustainability Manager will plan and lead sustainability projects ensuring they are completed on time and within budget. You'll be responsible for defining project scopes, objectives, timelines, stakeholders, and deliverables in line with the strategy. Projects span a range of ESG topics including assessing the supply chain for sustainability performance, managing the annual carbon footprinting process, evaluating the social impact of community initiatives, creating and delivering business-wide sustainability training, and helping the business to achieve its decarbonisation targets in line with the Science Based Targets Initiative. We are looking for a results-driven person who has a real passion for sustainability. You'll have the opportunity to create lasting change and shape the business' sustainability strategy.
Your role will involve reviewing ESG performance and actioning improvement areas with an aim of improving performance year on year. You'll assist in producing a publicly available annual impact report detailing sustainability plans, achievements, metrics, and performance across all areas.
Role Details
* £43,000- £50,000, depending on experience
* Contract type: Permanent
* Role based: York
* Annual leave: 25 days plus bank holidays
Our Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who has:
* Previous experience in a central sustainability function or similar
* Excellent analytical and data management skills
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
* Project management experience is desirable
* A degree qualification in environmental science or sustainability is desirable
