Purpose of Role You will be fully responsible for the Aftersales Parts Commercial team, accountable for both the sourcing and pricing of all spare parts required by our global Retail network. The overarching aim of this team is to provide the best possible parts availability worldwide, delivered in the most efficient and effective manner to support both our customer & Retailer satisfaction and business objectives. Principal Accountabilities Parts sourcing – Implementation of a sourcing strategy that ensures availability of all required spare parts are catered for. These come from a global supply base covering all McLaren vehicle models. Supplier Management & Engagement – Ensure that suppliers are actively managed and monitored, and fully understand Aftersales requirements for the short, medium and long-term horizons Global Parts Pricing – Define, implement and execute a pricing strategy that maximises margins whilst promoting a positive customer ownership experience (includes operating in multiple currencies). This accountability also needs to consider models at various stages of their respective lifecycles. Global Parts Reporting - Deliver accurate and regular reports and forecasts to provide maximum transparency for all stakeholders (internal, Regions, Retailers etc), and to drive appropriate commercial behaviours. New product introduction – Manage the sourcing and pricing of all parts required to support the new model launch plan. Legacy model management – ensure that all necessary commercial agreements are in place for spare parts on vehicles that are moving from the production to the legacy phase of their lifecycle. Global Parts Distribution – Working with 3rd party providers to ensure that all items are distributed in the most efficient manner and at the most economical cost. Systems Management – Maintain and optimise all systems required all business processes, ensuring that they are scalable for future business growth. Issue Management - Point of escalation and leading the resolution of Aftersales commercial issues such as supply constraints, contract discussions, supplier performance issues and all other supply chain and operational issues. Where necessary rectification measures to be applied to prevent re-occurrence. Continuous Improvement – Review team performance on a regular basis and promote a culture whereby operational processes are optimised to enable business imperatives to be met in the most efficient manner. Financial Management – Review and report on business performance, identifying key trends and recommendations for improvements. Input into the budget setting process to maximise Aftersales parts profitability. Leadership – Motivate and challenge the Parts Commercial team, ensuring the delivery of KPI’s whilst also promoting the personal growth and development of all team members. Management – Manage team ensuring that roles and responsibilities are clearly set out, regular performance reviews are held, personal development plans are in place and team are appropriately empowered ‘to do the right thing’. Uphold the commitments set out in the Aftersales Management Charter Business Integration – Collaborative working with key senior stakeholders across the wider global business to ensure that Aftersales business processes and strategies are fully aligned with the business as a whole. Commercial Orientation – Regularly interact with regionally based colleagues to understand market challenges, opportunities and to assess current performance vs. target. Drive requirement for business improvement plans where required Global Parts Availability – Full responsible for overall Parts Release and material planning programme, identifying & providing the required spare parts assortment for all past, present & future models and derivatives.
