Duties: As the Director of Safeguarding, you will be responsible for setting the strategic direction and providing inspirational leadership to the college’s safeguarding and welfare functions. You will lead the development and implementation of safeguarding policies, ensuring that the college meets its statutory and regulatory obligations while fostering a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment for all students. The role requires a proactive approach to safeguarding, child protection, and learner wellbeing, with an emphasis on collaboration and innovation to drive continuous improvement across the college. Skills/Experience: Proven consistent delivery of success of delivering improving student outcomes over consecutive curriculum years. Detailed understanding of OFSTED, SAR processes and quality inspection regimes. Confident understanding of learning support strategies and associated pedagogy, best practice and statutory requirements. Proven ability to challenge, mentor & coach for improvement in teaching and learning. Experience of developing plans and policies for the delivery of high-quality educational services. Experience of driving and achieving excellent educational performance and outcomes. Qualifications: To hold a first degree or equivalent. Teaching qualification Evidence of ongoing professional development. Ideal Attributes: The ability to enlist the willing cooperation of people to achieve desired results. High level of resilience and comfort with ambiguity – ability to operate under pressure in a fast-paced, evolving environment, and to support and inspire others to do the same.
