Electrical Project Engineering Consultant

PM Group requires Electrical Engineering support on a FMCG site based in the North West. The project requires both Project Construction, Installation and Maintenance activities to be coordinated as part of the overall project deliverables.
Responsibilities
1. Design Requirements: HV / LV Network, Electrical load demand calculations (final documentation only), Switchgear selection (final documentation only), Primary and secondary distribution design (final documentation only), Switch room electrical design (final documentation only), Heat loss calculations (final documentation only), Cable design (final documentation only), Earth nest design (final documentation only), Cable schedule preparation, Cable containment route design, Mass load (Weight) calculations, Cable termination schedule preparation, Electrical schematics design/approval.
2. Managing Maintenance Requirements: Maintain optimum electrical and process control equipment facilities to meet the established objectives of the business, Ensure reliability of electrical in operation, Maintain electrical/process control hardware to get the plant at a high level of efficiency, safety, quality, etc, Maintain liaisons with other departments, disciplines, and facilities to provide necessary support and maintenance for optimal factory operations, Provide technical direction training and capability building of Electrical and Control Technicians, Comply with all safety and environmental regulations (Internal & External).
3. Managing Project Requirements: Determine and document project electrical requirements, Review, validate and approve electric works and permits, Ensure adherence, and update MS project programme, Ensure compliance with electrical designs, Arrange for and progress the production of electrical drawings, Attend progress and design meetings, Perform risk assessment when needed, Action related design and progress decisions, Ensure specifications compliance, Report status to CPUK management team.
4. Supervision of Electrical Contractors: Day-to-day liaison with contractors engineering and supervisory staff, Police Health and Safety requirements including CDM, Supervise works to ensure specification compliance, Record daily project activity, staff levels and progress, Control progress in line with project program, Produce regular management progress reports, Formulate and submit change concepts, Seek approval of proposed changes to scope, Pre-delivery inspections of equipment, Supervise electrical inspection and testing, Approval of electrical inspection and testing documentation, Supervise device testing programme, Assist with final commissioning of plant, Approve supplier invoicing, Control submission of Final documentation Hand-over.
Qualifications
1. Proven experience of working as a project engineer on multiple projects in the Food, FMCG or other relevant industry.
2. Background in Electrical engineering.
3. Knowledge of standard industry practices, procedures and safety measures is essential.
4. Excellent communication skills, able to lead and focus a multi-disciplined engineering team.
5. Strong leadership and communication skills, including the ability to challenge and work with other technical engineers and project stakeholders.
