Role Overview
We are currently looking for a Quality Control Microbiologist to join a leading pharmaceutical distributor company based in the Essex area. As the Quality Control Microbiologist you will be responsible for the management of the microbiological laboratory, ensuring testing is performed in a timely manner.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Your duties as the Quality Control Microbiologist will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:
1. Organisation of routing testing and activities of the micro lab in accordance to cGMP and HSE, ensuring the production of reliable and precise data, as well as providing quality metrics information relating to the microbiology laboratory.
2. Assisting the Quality Control Manager ensuring the constant development and implementation of robust working practices within the laboratory environment.
3. Writing protocols and reports for microbiological testing, and participating in Quality based investigations and root cause analysis.
4. Performing Quality based investigations, OOS and OOT investigations, and ensuring the maintenance of laboratory equipment and stock in adherence to SOPs and H&S policies.
Role Requirements
To be successful in your application to this exciting opportunity as the Quality Control Microbiologist we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:
1. Relevant degree in a life sciences course, preferably Microbiology, Chemistry, or Pharmacy related degrees.
2. Proven industry experience in working in a pharmaceutical company, a GMP regulated environment, or experience working in a similar lab-based Quality Control role.
3. A working knowledge and practical experience with working in a laboratory environment, adhering to company policies and procedures, i.e Health and Safety, GMP, SOPs, and MHRA guidelines.
