Equans, in partnership with Southern Water is seeking an experienced and proactive Handyman to join our team in Worthing, West Sussex. In this full-time Handyman role, you will play a key part in providing high-quality maintenance services across our estate, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant operations. Key Responsibilities:
* Planned & Reactive Maintenance: Perform a variety of tasks such as plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and building repairs across the estate.
* Statutory Compliance: Conduct and document essential statutory checks including water hygiene (L8), fire door inspections, and emergency lighting tests.
* Customer Support: Collaborate with the Equans (Southern Water) Helpdesk to provide support for both planned and reactive maintenance tasks.
* Supervision of Subcontractors: Oversee specialist subcontractors and identify opportunities to self-deliver certain maintenance activities.
* Health & Safety: Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, report incidents, and help maintain safe working environments across all sites.
* General Facilities Duties: Assist with a range of tasks such as parcel management, furniture assembly, desk moves, landscaping, and more.
What We're Looking For:
* Experience: Proven experience in a facilities management role, with a hands-on approach to maintenance and problem-solving in a fast-paced environment.
* Skills: Strong communication and IT skills (Word, Excel), with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
* Qualifications: GCSEs (Grade C or above) in English and Maths, IOSH Working Safely certification, and a full UK driving licence.
* Personality: A proactive, team-oriented individual who takes initiative, solves problems efficiently, and is customer-focused.
