Job Description
We are working with a leading London based University recruiting for a Research Hub Manager.
Daily Rate: based on salary equivalent of £56,652 - £68,005
Contract type: 1 month, possibility of further extension
Working hours: Full-Time, 35 hours per week
Location: London (Hybrid)
Job Purpose:
The Research Hub Manager will be responsible for the ongoing publicity, management, planning and coordination of the Communications Hub. The post holder will be expected to maintain the communication, budget management, and administrative structure for the project.
Duties:
1. Be responsible for the management of the Hub grant, its budgets and accounts, and to coordinate and distribute financial progress reports as necessary.
2. Monitor budget expenditure to ensure compliance with sponsors’ terms and conditions.
3. Manage the engagement with the sponsors, the grant’s academic partners and other stakeholders from industry, academia, and government.
4. Manage the regular cycles of events such as running calls for proposals, arranging monthly meetings, agenda, speakers and managing the International workshop logistics and finances.
5. Coordinate the quarterly and annual project reports and provide financial advice and support to the relevant academic staff and students.
6. Support the Hub’s public engagement and online presence.
7. Maintain proactive management of the Hub’s social media presence, including populating portals to include calls for seed funding, newsletters, job adverts etc.
8. Assist with the day-to-day running of the group’s research web pages and social media output.
Person Specification:
1. Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to deal with a wide range of people.
2. Experience with publicity, such as scientific writing or the creation of web pages, including hosting a social media presence.
3. Experience in managing scientific or industrial projects.
4. Budget management experience.
5. Experience within the higher education sector.
6. Understanding and experience of research grant funding.
