Position: Assistant Project Manager
Location: Samlesbury, Blackburn
Role: Full Time
Mitie have a brand new opportunity for an Assistant Project Manager to join their team in Samlesbury to support and deliver Construction Projects across the BAE Systems Northwest Portfolio region, predominantly based at the Samlesbury site.
Main Responsibilities
* Responsible for the successful initiation, planning, design, execution, monitoring, controlling, and closure of a project.
* Manage and lead Construction Projects on-site, liaising with the Senior Management team, client, subcontractors, and other trades, coordinating all aspects of the works to ensure project completion in line with requirements, within budget, and on time.
* Manage the work of consultants, allocate and utilize resources efficiently, and maintain a cooperative, motivated, and successful team.
Main Duties
* Develop, in conjunction with the Project Sponsor, the scope of the project.
* Ensure that the project is delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality and regulatory standards.
* Effectively resource the project and manage relationships with a wide range of groups.
* Conduct risk analysis.
* Communicate effectively at all times with the client, client's representative, project architect, project engineer, local authorities, and all persons affected by the project.
* Liaise daily with the line manager.
* Liaise daily with the internal Commercial team to manage project finances.
* Attend and take notes of any meetings relevant to the project, either on-site or in offices.
* Develop and maintain working programmes and schedules.
* Manage project deliverables in line with the project plan.
* Record and manage project issues and escalate where necessary.
* Resolve cross-functional issues at the project level.
* Manage project scope and change control.
* Monitor and report project progress and performance.
Person Specification
* Substantial experience of the full life cycle of multiple Construction projects, involving project management of the project and the staff/operatives working on it.
* Knowledge and understanding of the CDM regulations.
* Experience with Small Works projects.
* Experience working on refurbishment and refit projects.
* Strong sense of achievement; able to drive projects forward, expect good standards of work, and overcome barriers/solve problems.
* Organized, with good time management and prioritization skills.
* Reliable, punctual, responsible, and organized.
