About the Role As WePlay continues to grow, we are expanding our Commercial Development team to help us to achieve our commercial growth targets and generate new business for the Agency. We’re seeking a Business Development Manager who can drive commercial growth across our target markets and clients, managing an international pipeline of new business opportunities with the world’s most exciting and ambitious brands in sport and entertainment. The Business Development Manager will play a pivotal role in bringing new business opportunities to WePlay, working with our Business Development Director and Marketing teams to identify, engage and secure new clients. You will possess a solid understanding for WePlay’s agency service provision, client portfolio and case studies, along with in depth knowledge of our target markets, organisations and their commercial goals and challenges. Your role will include the management of a sales pipeline process with measurable annual, quarterly and monthly commercial KPIs to drive new business opportunities through the sales funnel including target identification, first contact and ongoing communications and relationship building that lead to attended meetings and RFP invitations from targeted organisations. Key Responsibilities Develop a strategy for driving business growth within the fast-growing sports and digital media market. Drive business growth through your own directory of contacts. Drive business growth through WePlay’s current client portfolio. Manage the sales pipeline through Hubspot CRM. Build a strategy to approach the one-degree-of-separation from WePlay’s current clients. Utilise WePlay’s excellent industry credibility to prospect new business and book meetings. Qualify opportunities before securing any meeting or brief. Work collaboratively with the team and develop pitch presentations where required. Manage international relationships across multiple time zones. Work with WePlay’s partners to identify new business opportunities. Develop sales pitches and execute both with the team and under your own leadership. Report on business development performance monthly. Provide quarterly performance reports to aid Director board meetings. About You Proven experience in a business development and sales role, ideally within the sports, media, or digital marketing industries. Strong understanding of client relationship management and a track record of driving business growth through prospecting and selling to new clients. Experience working with agency services and/or relevant technology solutions. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across multiple teams and departments. Knowledge of the digital marketing landscape, particularly digital marketing services within the sports sector. Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to identify and pursue new business opportunities within existing networks and relationships. Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to present business credentials at CMO level and develop sales material for the Commercial Development team. Data-driven with the ability to use analytics and insights to report pipeline development and progress against business development KPIs.
