We are happy for you to be based in Bradford, Chatham or Petersfield but please note that occasional travel will be required to our other offices.
Working Pattern: Our working style is hybrid, but we recognise the importance of collaborative working with our colleagues often 2 days per week in one of our offices.

You and Your Team: As a Database Administrator, you will be reporting to the Lead Database Administrator. You will be responsible for ensuring high performance, security and resilience of all data systems within Vanquis. You will also be responsible for delivering secure, performant and highly available SQL server instances.
In your day-to-day role, as a Database Administrator, you will:
1. Provide and maintain development, test, and production database environments across all locations.
2. Plan and deploy new databases, objects and SSIS packages.
3. Replication Management.
4. Troubleshoot and resolve SSIS package failures, providing feedback to Data Engineering to improve quality.
5. Adopt new technologies, features, software versions to ensure we use the best tools for purpose.
6. Optimise database performance and availability.
7. Constantly monitor and improve the security of databases.
8. Provide consultancy to Project Managers, Business Analysts and Managers around current processes, best practices and ideas to solve business challenges.
9. Provide on call support on a rota basis.
What will make you stand out?
1. Experience as a Database Administrator.
2. Strong troubleshooting, performance tuning, T-SQL.
3. Security awareness & practical experience.
4. Capable of being given high level (vague) tasks and working independently to successful completion.
5. Ability to implement the working standards and practices of the team.
6. Ability to share knowledge with colleagues.
