ESG (Environmental Social Governance) Reporting Lead

The Team:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced ESG Lead / Director to develop and implement our comprehensive ESG strategy, driving our journey towards net zero and ensuring compliance with evolving reporting requirements. This role will be pivotal in shaping our sustainability vision and embedding ESG principles throughout our organisation. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully implementing net zero programs within large organisations, preferably within the pharmaceutical manufacturing sector.
Role and Responsibilities:
The primary responsibility of the role holder is to collaborate closely with various functions within the business to produce accurate and high-quality sustainability reports and disclosures. This critical work will ensure that both internal and external stakeholders gain a clear understanding of the organization's material sustainability topics, the progress made in these areas, and the challenges being addressed. Main responsibilities for the role will include:
ESG Strategy
1. Develop and implement a comprehensive multi-year ESG strategy aligned with the organisations overall business objectives and Customer requirements and industry best practice.
2. Lead the development and execution of our Net Zero Roadmap, including setting ambitious targets (SBTi / B-Corp etc.), identifying emission reduction targets & opportunities, and overseeing the implementation of related projects.
3. Work with the Supply chain to drive down the Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions.
Reporting & Compliance
1. Lead the preparation and publication of accurate and timely ESG reports, including data collection management, analysis, and stakeholder engagement.
2. Responsibility for successful compliance to ESG and CSRD reporting requirements.
3. Stay abreast of evolving ESG regulations and reporting standards, including the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), and ensure compliance.
4. Oversee the development and implementation of ESG-related policies and procedures in line with Eco-Vardis / Evergreen assessment standards.
5. Work with Company Auditors in line with CSRD assurance requirements.
Collaboration and communications (fostering a connected caring organisation)
1. Collaborate with Cross functional teams to integrate ESG considerations into key business decisions, including operations, procurement, and product development.
2. Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including investors, customers, employees, and community groups, to communicate our ESG performance and build strong relationships.
Horizon Scanning and Risk Management
1. Develop and implement organizational understanding of the ESG horizon.
2. Undertake and develop mitigation strategies from ESG related policy developments for the markets in which we operate.
What you'll bring
1. Bachelor's level Degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Business Administration.
2. Auditor ISO 14001:2015 EMS.
3. REnvP / PIEMA or equivalent.
4. Extensive experience in ESG development and implementation with a demonstrable track record of success.
5. Proven experience in developing and implementing net zero programs for large organisations, preferably within the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry.
6. Deep understanding of ESG principles, frameworks, and reporting standards (e.g., GRI, SASB, TCFD, SDGs, CSRD, ESOS, SECR etc.)
7. Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
8. Proficiency in data management tools and techniques.
9. Experience with project management methodologies (e.g. Agile / Waterfall) and tools.
