As a Safer Streets Guardian, you will play a vital role in supporting the Safer Streets Project Coordinator in creating safer and more vibrant public spaces within West Berkshire. You will be responsible for conducting regular patrols of designated areas, identifying any issues or concerns, and taking appropriate action to ensure the safety and wellbeing of residents and visitors.
Key responsibilities:
1. Conducting regular patrols of public spaces in The Nightingales, Greenham.
2. Reporting and addressing any issues related to anti-social behaviour, environmental cleanliness, and maintenance
3. Collaborating with local partners, such as the police and community groups, to implement effective solutions
4. Engaging with the community to gather feedback and promote community safety initiatives
5. Assisting in the coordination of community events and campaigns to enhance public spaces
To excel in this role, you should have:

7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
8. Strong organisational and time management abilities
9. The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
10. A genuine interest in community safety and improving public spaces

18. You will also be entitled to a generous annual leave entitlement starting at 27 days per annum (plus public holidays) Rising by an additional 5 days after 5 years’ service.
