Role Title: Lab and Workshop Manager
Location: Fully Onsite in Cambridge
FTE: 37.5 hours/week
Contract Length: 6 Months with a high chance of extension/going permanent

Role Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Lab and Workshop Manager to oversee the R&D laboratory, workshop, and stores area for a small, dynamic team of engineers working on the development of innovative physical consumer products. These cutting-edge products focus on monitoring the wellbeing of companion animals, offering pet owners valuable insights into the health and happiness of their pets.
As part of a multidisciplinary team including Product Designers, Mechanical Engineers, and Electronics Engineers, you will play a key role in maintaining and improving the facility, managing prototype assemblies (including PCBs, sensors, and mechanical parts), and carrying out product testing. You’ll be responsible for handling various tools and equipment, from model-making and mechanical test devices to prototype PCBA assembly gear.

Required experience
* Technical Experience: Prior experience as a test or development technician for electro-mechanical products is highly desirable.
* Engineering Knowledge: A solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, and electronic testing.
* Health & Safety Awareness: Familiarity with COSHH, risk assessments, and safety management in a workshop/lab environment.
* Prototyping & Assembly: Experience in prototype assembly, including working with PCBs, sensors, and mechanical assemblies.
