We're looking for either one full time or two part time staff members, depending on the applicants.
Main duties of the job
You will be responsible for providing morning / afternoon reception / admin duties, supporting both the GPs and the nursing team.

Job responsibilities
Main Duties
* Operate day-to-day duties on the computerised appointment system.
* Receive patients and make appointments with doctors, nurses, and attached primary care staff.
* Make remote appointment bookings into the 7 Day Extended Hours Service, run by H&SH.
* Answer the telephone and deal with appointments and enquiries.
* Accept requests for, and hand out, prescriptions.
* Register patients for SystmOnline services.
* Gain patients' Data Sharing Consent status, re. the new model of share on SystmOne.
* Accept pathology lab samples and complete the appropriate pathology lab forms to be sent to the North Tees Pathology Laboratory.
* Request pathology tests using the electronic ICE system.
* Undertake the admin duties around INR finger prick testing.
* Book interpreters and liaise with patients, where relevant.
* Set up electronic referrals to Community Services, e.g. Phlebotomy, District Nursing, etc.
* Open the incoming internal mail in the morning, stamp with the date, and place in the GPs' trays.
* Deal with outgoing post, i.e. external mail.
* Deal with cash receipts.
* Give out results to patients via Pathology Links (after 3pm).
* Manage your personal NHS Mail Account.
* Assist the secretaries with patient related queries regarding hospital appointments.
* Process repeat prescriptions, in line with the Practice's repeat prescribing protocol (ETP).
* Scan incoming internal mail to clinicians, using electronic document workflow.
* Enter data onto the clinical system, ensuring quality data input, in line with current read-code guidelines.

Training

Experience
* Previous, up-to-date experience in a Receptionist role within the Primary Care Setting (i.e. within the last 12 months)
Qualifications
* AMSPAR Medical Receptionist Certificate, or equivalent
Special Knowledge
* Ability to use information and communications technology safely, effectively, and efficiently
* Knowledge of medical, clinical IT systems
* Disability awareness
* Knowledge of Health and Social Care agencies within the local area
