Finance Manager required for a Nailsea Construction firm

Your new role
The Finance Manager will be responsible for contract invoicing, credit control, financial tasks, accounting support, and maintaining effective communication within the finance department. Experience working in the construction industry or a project-driven environment would be advantageous but not essential. Part-time hours will be considered.
1. Manage the day-to-day finance function across 2 business functions.
2. Regular bookkeeping and bank reconciliations.
3. PAYE and CIS returns.
4. Make payments for VAT returns.
5. Manage sales ledger, write, and send invoices for all clients whilst liaising closely with the project management team.
6. Manage purchase ledger and ensure invoices are posted to the system in an accurate and timely fashion.
7. Manage day-to-day cash flow, liaising with project managers to forecast pipeline income and plan supplier payments monthly.
8. Main point of contact for suppliers.
9. Manage company credit cards and staff expenses.
10. Supplier payments and manage payment schedules.
11. Receive and approve payroll from accountants and pay staff salaries.
12. Ensure client files are accurate and up to date.
13. Liaise with company accountants to make payments for tax and VAT returns.
14. Manage and record transactions between companies, making bank transfers where required.
15. Completion of credit application forms for new supplier accounts, inform Project Managers when accounts are operational.
16. Establish and maintain finance policies and procedures for the company. Understand and adhere to financial regulations and legislation.
17. Completion of actions arising from weekly meetings with the senior management team.
18. Document processes.
What you'll need to succeed
* Credit Control and Ledger Maintenance
* Finance and Accounting knowledge
* Strong communication skills
* Experience of managing a team
* Ability to work effectively in a finance team
* Attention to detail and accuracy in financial tasks
* Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
* Previous experience in a similar role is an advantage
* Relevant qualification in Finance, Accounting, or related field
