The post holder will be responsible for the development and delivery of a comprehensive moving and handling service provision to all staff groups, with a large focus on patient and staff safety for the implementation and maintenance of the newly revised and updated Moving and Handling Policy providing expert advice around moving and handling practices following up any such enquiries.
The post holder will have experience in moving and handling training with a relevant healthcare qualification. Thorough knowledge of clinical moving and handling practices in an acute and community setting is highly essential; however, applicants lacking healthcare qualifications but possessing relevant experience of service provision in a healthcare environment would be considered.
Main duties of the job
Good communication, interpersonal as well as teaching and training skills are essential for this post.
The post holder will be expected to support unit managers, both clinical and non-clinical, providing support to moving and handling advisers and working across the Trust by giving advice and guidance on moving and handling practices and procedures at a local level.
Close working with clinical staff is essential to ensure the provision of education and training aligns with best practice, national guidelines, and moving and handling legislation. Involvement in strategic clinical developments and relevant meetings are also key requirements of this role and the team more broadly.
