About the Team The Business, Trade & Culture team is a flexible and friendly team of about 20 people, working to boost sustainable economic growth and ensure smart government spending. We engage with businesses, manage funds for key departments, and support growth in advanced manufacturing and small businesses while attracting inward investment. Business engagement is crucial, with a dedicated team of 6 staff members fostering strong industry relationships to drive growth. We are the front-door for businesses to connect with the Treasury, maintaining strong relationships with industry representatives to drive the growth mission. About the Job In this role, you will: Lead the design and execution of business engagement for the Chancellor, ensuring that interactions between businesses and HM Treasury are impactful and meaningful. Serve as a pivotal point of contact within the Treasury for businesses and business representative organisations (BROs), facilitating seamless communication. Build and develop strong relationships with businesses and BROs on behalf of the Chancellor, building trust and rapport. Coordinate business briefings, provide strategic advice and manage correspondence for Ministers and Special Advisers (SpAds). Contribute valuable private sector insights into policy development, ensuring that the perspectives of the business community are considered and integrated into HM Treasury’s policy development. This is a varied and stretching role with significant exposure to Ministers, No10 and senior contacts in business, HM Treasury and beyond.
