Deputy Manager – Hindhead
Salary: £28,608.58 per annum
Whitmore Vale Housing Association is a charity-based organisation providing supported living and residential services to individuals with learning disabilities across seven sites located throughout Surrey.
Our experienced and driven team is looking to fill the role of Deputy Manager within our Hindhead service. We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Deputy Manager to join our team and assist in managing the day-to-day operations of our outreach service.
Previous experience within a deputy, leadership, or supervisory role is desirable. At least 2 years’ experience within a health and social care role is required.
Due to the requirements of the service, this role requires a full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
Job Description:
As Deputy Manager, you will be responsible for assisting in overseeing the care and support provided to individuals within our residential Hindhead services. You will ensure that care is person-centred, safe, and of the highest quality, while also managing a team of dedicated support workers to achieve the best outcomes for the individuals we support.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist in the overall management of the residential service, ensuring that care and support are delivered in accordance with the individuals' needs, preferences, and care plans.
2. Supervise, mentor, and support the care team, ensuring they are trained, motivated, and compliant with policies and procedures.
3. Assist in the recruitment, training, and development of support workers.
4. Develop and maintain person-centred care plans and ensure regular reviews of the individuals' progress.
5. Support the management team with the financial and resource management of the service.
6. Participate in the on-call rota and assist with emergency situations when required.
7. Monitor the quality of care through regular audits, spot checks, and supervision, ensuring that high standards are maintained.
8. Liaise with external agencies, such as social workers, healthcare professionals, and family members, to ensure seamless support for the individuals we support.

To be successful in this role, you will need to be a compassionate and experienced care professional with excellent leadership and organisational skills. You will be able to motivate and inspire a team while ensuring that the needs of the individuals we support are always the top priority.
Essential Criteria:
1. Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
2. A good understanding of outreach services, person-centred care, and relevant legislation (e.g., CQC, Care Act, Safeguarding).
3. NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent), with a willingness to work towards Level 5 (or already obtained).
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with staff, families, and external professionals.
5. Compassionate and empathetic approach to care, with a commitment to empowering individuals.
6. Ability to manage a varied workload and respond to challenges with flexibility and resilience.
7. Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one).
