Job summary
This 12 month post will focus on a range of specialist surgicalservices which are based at the will also be anopportunity to work at Worcestershire Royal Hospital to offer cover whenrequired. You will work alongside two other band 6 dietitians in thedepartment to support band 5 dietitians and dietetic students while theband 7 is off site. You will need to have excellent communication skillsand be a proactive member of the team.
Weare a department of 32 dietitians working across our two general hospitalsites. Our experienced team contributes to national dietetic specialistgroups, publishes articles and presents at the BDA research symposium/ clinicalconferences.
Weactively encourage audit and service development, and offer supervisionprogrammes, CPD, and regular team meetings. You will be involved in studenttraining as we offer Coventry University A, B, C student placements. Specialistoutpatient clinics are available if you would like to combine both inpatientand outpatient work.
Main duties of the job
1. To work as a specialist Dietitian in the Department within the general team with a special interest in surgery.
2. To review in-patients on medical and surgical wards.
3. To work with the MDT and Specialist Nurses to enhance effective nutrition support.
4. To hold out-patients clinics providing expert advice to patients with a range of medical conditions.
5. To carry out audit to improve nutrition support for in-patients.
6. To provide cover to specialist wards during times of leave.
7. To offer training to nursing and medical staff on nutrition related topics.
