To practice as a registered Senior Biomedical Scientist specialising in Histopathology. The post holder will work with the other Senior BMS's for the smooth running of the laboratory service. They will be jointly responsible for the day-to-day supervision of the technical work and staff within the Histopathology laboratory and ensure the timely delivery of a high-quality service., We are looking for an individual who is motivated and enthusiastic to join a dedicated team providing a high-quality service.
The post holder will be responsible for routine and specialist techniques within Histopathology including research and development and digital pathology ensuring continuous service provision.
The department provides a full diagnostic paediatric service.
The Histopathology department has UKAS ISO 15189 accreditation, is licensed by the Human Tissue Authority and is accredited for training with the Institute of Biomedical Science.
The post holder will work closely with the Histopathology manager and Senior Biomedical Scientists, work as a member of the Histopathology team providing a laboratory service to the Trust and its users and rotate between all areas of the histopathology laboratory.
