Job Overview
The North Cumbria Children's ADHD Team is looking for a highly motivated Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our team. We seek a passionate and enthusiastic clinician with suitable leadership and clinical experience to lead this nurse-led service.
This post requires a Non-Medical Prescriber qualification with experience of prescribing.
The post sits within North Cumbria Children's Senior Leadership team within CNTW to support collective leadership across the services.
The post holder will work across North Cumbria but can be based in either the East or West of the county.
Main Duties of the Job
1. Contribute to the strategic direction and development of the service across North Cumbria.
2. Supervise and support NMPs in the service while managing their own caseload.
3. Oversee the assessment process for the ADHD service.
4. Work closely with partner agencies to improve processes and links.
Person Specification
Knowledge and Experience
* Non-Medical Prescriber.
* Experience in service development changes.
* Awareness of the evolving healthcare agenda and implications for nursing.
* Experience of audit and related activities.
* Evidence of facilitating quality improvement in practice.
* Knowledge of clinical governance issues.
* Experience of training and education.
* Experience working with ADHD.
Education and Qualification
* First level registered nurse.
* Recognized teaching qualification.
* Postgraduate qualification at Masters level or equivalent.
* Evidence of continuous professional development.
* Experience in therapeutic interventions relevant to working with enduring mental health problems (e.g., PSI, CBT, Family Interventions, Group Work).
* Advanced level therapeutic training in one of the above modalities.
Skills and Competencies
* Ability to prioritize complex workloads.
* Ability to work across professional and organizational boundaries.
* Strong interpersonal skills.
* Ability to put strategy into action.
* Experience working with families and managing expectations.
