Our client is looking for an experienced social media manager to join their friendly and trusted press office. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled, experienced and perceptive social media professional. The ideal candidate will love creating content and copy that brings complex and sensitive topics to life, while positively engaging and growing audiences across their social channels.
Their work sits at the heart of some of the most polarising debates facing the UK. This is a role for a creative professional who has the intellectual rigour, sensitivity and attention to detail needed to navigate challenging social media environments.
Your new role
Create high quality copy and accompanying multimedia assets, including compiling and editing video content and graphics for the EHRC's social media accounts (currently Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube).
Develop, run and evaluate highly creative paid social media campaigns. You will choose the best channels for the assigned objective, reach the right audience and demonstrate value for money.
Possess strong writing skills to draft effective content for each account, using the appropriate tone of voice and language to fit the Commission's external profile.
Have experience using digital monitoring and management tools, as well as the ability to use social listening tools to identify relevant trends and be able to advise on and deliver appropriate responses from corporate accounts.
Use analytical tools to evaluate the performance of our social media channels and posts and show impact. Suggest regular improvements to strategy, tactics, content and copy.
Accompany spokespeople to engagements to capture and create social media moments.
Demonstrate best practice on social media for the EHRC as a whole and work across teams to ensure all accounts adhere to the same high standards.
Ideally, have experience working in a fast-paced news environment, as you will be expected to support the wider press office by taking part in an out-of-hours media handling duty rota and contributing to a daily media analysis report (roughly every one week in four).
What you'll need to succeed
Essential:
2+ years in social media communications and campaigns (agency or in-house).
Graphic design, photography, videography and editing skills, including the ability to use phone or other cameras to create engaging social media content - the Adobe Suite will be available for your useExperience with paid social media campaigns and platforms like Google Analytics, Meta Business Suite, LinkedIn Ads, Google AdWords, Tag Manager.
Strong understanding of digital marketing and engagement principles.
Proven ability to produce high-quality, accurate, and compelling social media content swiftly and independently.
Ability to present social media advice confidently.
Excellent time and project management skills, working collaboratively and independently.
Sound judgement in producing clear, proficient written advice.
Team collaboration and support skills.
Desirable:
Experience of media handling or journalism.
Experience gained within a complex legal, regulatory, or policy environment (and the ability to translate technical information into plain English).
What you'll get in return
£208.80 p/d Inside IR35 (Via Umbrella) OR £191.34 P/D Inside (via PAYE)
Contract until 31st March (potential extension)
Requirement to take part in out of hours media rota, reactive media - 1 week in 4 (creation of media summary each morning, additional rota for out of hours media handling- evenings & weekends)
Hybrid working Manchester - 40% in office
