As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in providing statutory occupational therapy services to adults within the community. Your responsibilities will include offering advice, retraining, equipment, and adaptations to enable individuals to live independently. This role demands a commitment to strengths-based practice, emphasizing the empowerment of individuals to identify and build support networks, thereby maximising their independence.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide professional occupational therapy services to adults with care and support needs.
2. Collaborate with colleagues and agencies to ensure holistic care and support.
3. Tailor interventions to reflect individual personal, social, cultural, and economic needs.
4. Manage a complex caseload with autonomy, integrating a multi-agency approach.
5. Develop a special interest in a particular area (e.g., moving and handling, learning disabilities, equipment, housing, transition) and provide support to peers as required.
6. Offer advice and support to carers to enhance their ability to support individuals effectively.
7. Travel outside the county as necessary to fulfill job duties.
Requirements:
8. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy.
9. Registration with the HCPC.
10. Proven experience in providing occupational therapy services to adults.
11. Commitment to strengths-based practice and empowering individuals.
12. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
13. Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
14. Willingness to develop a special interest area and share knowledge with colleague
