Mechanical Design Engineer – Worcester
We seek a full-time Senior Design Engineer for our Worcester-based team. Reporting to the Principal Engineer in the Power Systems team, this role focuses on high-power density transmission technology. Essential skills include gearbox design, manufacturing, bearing allocation, vibration analysis, and load testing.
Progression to Principal Engineer over a 2-3 year period for the right person, with global responsibility and a significant salary.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Create 3D CAD models and layouts using Autodesk tools
2. Generate and modify designs and manage BOM data
3. Perform engineering calculations and design validation
4. Liaise with global stakeholders, including Manufacturing, Quality, customers, and suppliers
5. Conduct reviews, investigations, and testing
6. Provide conceptual and strategic solutions
7. Organise workload and potentially lead a group
8. Develop communication presentations showcasing engineering compliance and best practices
9. Participate in effective Change Management
Requirements:
1. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
2. Minimum of 5 years in mechanical design, preferably in medium/heavy-duty transmission design
3. Proficiency with Autodesk suite: 2D AutoCAD, 3D Inventor, and Vault is desirable
4. Detail-oriented with strong organisational skills
5. Ability to meet tight deadlines and demonstrated time management skills
6. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate at all levels
7. Willingness to travel internationally as needed
